June is Indigenous People’s Month. Classes will continue to learn about Indigenous history and culture to honor this important month. Students who would like to smudge may do so each Friday in June as they enter the school. Thursday, June 4th is Treaty Day in New Brunswick, students have been learning about this important topic in social studies classes.
Academics continue: As we wrap up the last few weeks of school, it is important to know that students will be participating and engaging in academics activities until the last day.
Permission slips for our grade 6 year end field trip to Camp Shiktehawk were sent home on Monday. Please sign and return as soon as possible. Please note, students must be in good academic standing with no outstanding work to participate in the trip.permission slip
Ice cream sundaes will be sold at noon for $2 on Thursday, this is a girls volleyball fundraiser.
Mr. Freezies are sold on warm days for $2. All profits will support a Ga-Ga pit for outdoor play.
Club Days – This is our second week of club days on Wednesdays. This week, the activity will be during period 3. Activities include volleyball, soccer, culture, art, and games. These activities help students practice our BEARS code and demonstrate belonging, empathy, achievement, respect, and safety.
Wabanaki Wednesday – Students and staff are invited to wear orange or clothing that represents Wabanaki culture each Wednesday.
Please remember to send a water bottle to school with students, hot weather is forecasted for this week.
